Datometry qShift Features

Datometry qShift automatically and instantly generates the schema for the destination data warehouse taking into account existing tables and objects in the source data warehouse schema. qShift generates the appropriate DDL queries for the destination data warehouse and creates the empty tables and views.

Updatable Views

Updatable views transferred by qShift are handled dynamically through Hyper-Q in real-time when the application invokes those views.

Datatype Matching

qShift will keep track of the datatype mismatches for Hyper-Q to use during query translation and query transformation.

Stored Procedures and Macros

qShift preserves the original Stored Procedures and Macros for use by Hyper-Q emulation.

Supported Systems: qShift can take schema from Teradata 13 or higher versions and synthesize schema for Azure SQL DW, AWS Redshift or Pivotal Greenplum.


Datometry qShift is a SaaS offering that automates the generation of schema for the destination cloud data warehouse instantly and with full accuracy.

Once qShift does the schema mapping and the data move is done, Hyper-Q handles all of the DDL commands including table/view creation, updates and deletes done using the legacy data warehouse format.
The schema generated by qShift is available for all applications to use. qShift generates schema to make sure Hyper-Q can translate the legacy SQL from existing applications without requiring modifications. The schema is available for DBAs and developers to make changes are required.
Today qShift is part of the Datometry replatforming solution and is not available as a standalone offering. qShift is deployed by the Datometry customer success team to expedite the implementation of Hyper-Q and speed up replatforming.
