Hyper-Q QI Edition gives enterprises an in-depth analysis of existing data warehouse application workloads at unprecedented level of detail.

Datometry QueryIntelligence (QI) is a unique and detailed breakdown and analysis of all interactions of an application with a database in any form of request including queries. As part of the analysis, QI simulates the execution of statements fully translated for the alternate target cloud database and provides a summary report which indicates to what extent a given workload can be directly executed on the alternate target database using Datometry’s Adaptive Database Virtualization technology.
The QI analysis provides unprecedented visibility into all aspects of existing application workloads and provides detailed information on the features used and the contexts in which they are used. This analysis includes information on out-of-the-box coverage of applications, query insights, recommendations for performance tuning and optimization, and a list of database objects referenced by the workload.
Using the query intelligence obtained from the QI analysis, customers can create database migration and implementation plans in weeks instead of months.
Currently, QI supports Microsoft SQL DW, Amazon Redshift, Pivotal Greenplum, Snowflake, and PostgreSQL.
QI analyzes application workloads as recorded and logged in query logs. This includes workloads regardless of the application that submitted the requests. Critically, this includes ad-hoc and analytical queries, query scripts executed by custom applications, as well as third-party BI and ETL solutions.
For its analysis, QI needs access to schema and metadata information to perform semantically correct translations. This information is obtained by connecting to the original database system. Since QI simulates the execution but does not actually execute the translated statements, there is no need to set up or make available the alternate database.
QI was designed with ease-of-use in mind: for execution, it does not require any special privileges and can be run with the credentials of regular database users.
An initial analysis can be usually performed within hours or days.
